Days of the Week--Almost

Yesterday Ethan was 2 1/2 years old! He was having a great day and we really had a lot of fun. We started the afternoon baking Valentine cookies and then he hammed it up for the camera, in rare form (at least for wanting to be on camera, he does this stuff just for us all the time (aren't we the lucky ones? Yes, we know we are.) So, what follows are a bunch of posts with videos of some of Ethan's most recent "Greatest Hits." If you are short on time, skip to "All Star." It is my absolute favorite.

Lately we've been working on the days of the week with E. He can actually do Sunday through Tuesday (and sometimes more) in order, but I just thought this clip, where he skips around but is so happy with himself, is more fun than the usual recitation.

Swing Low

We've been singing "Swing Low, Sweet Chariot" to Ethan when he's in his swing since he was an infant. Now we don't have to because he can sing it himself. Notice that he sings something closer to, "Sweet Cherry," which is part of why we love this clip so much. If you didn't know Rick was standing right there taping, you could almost believe Ethan was just out there swinging and singing all to himself.

Playing T-ball

Ethan likes all balls, so it is no surprise that the T-ball is a big hit. We've had unseasonably warm weather this year, so he has had a chance to get outside and play more than he normally would. If you watch the video clip below you'll hear that he screams after he hits the ball. This is a normal occurrence. He ALWAYS screams after he hits it. I'm not sure why exactly, but I'm guessing it has something to do with surprise he actually hit it, and joy that he gets to run after it.

Clues Are. . .

We've been trying to get this one on video for the longest time. Ethan loves his Blue's Clues (as we have previously discussed) and he is always declaring to us that, "Clues are: circles, a carrot, and snow." Now you can see for yourself.

Counting in Spanish

Ethan has taken to learning Spanish really well. He can count to 10 and knows his colors and a few words like "abre," "hola," and "muy bien." He loves to count in any language, so it is usually pretty easy to get him to do this one. It is also a good distraction and calms down a temper tantrum in a pinch!

ABCs

Some of the letters still blend together, but Ethan is doing really well with his alphabet. I love that his "H" sounds like "apes"!

Twinkle Twinkle

After the cookie making, while Mommy was cleaning up. Ethan and Daddy were outside playing. Ethan was apparently open to doing whatever was asked--and on camera! So here's a bit of him singing a song he's known for a while now, but we just haven't been able to catch on tape until now.

All Star

Ethan has been learning a lot of songs lately. This one you might recognize from frequent radio play. "Hey now, you're an all star. Get your game on go play. . . "

Baking Cookies

Yesterday, Ethan and I baked some Valentine cookies. He helped me roll the dough, cut out the cookies and put the sprinkles on. We had a really good time. He likes to help in the kitchen. Here are some pictures and even a little video of our good time.
